My Bro & sis-in-law own their home in Mohave county, they have a 1st & a 2nd, they are up to date on their 2nd, but are 4 months behind on their 1st - (they are doing everything they can, but he was laid off & she can't find work) - The last thing they want to do is lose their house as they built it themselves and its the only home their 6 year-old son has known. They can't refinance as they don't have enough income, they can't get another modification as their lender already gave them one. We've all given them money, but at this point, its not helping them at all unless they find jobs. I've lately heard of alot of homeowners in California that have just stopped paying their mortgage and are still living in their houses, some for going on a year and a half now......I want to tell them to do the same, but not sure this sort of thing is also happening in Arizona....Any input would help, thanks....
